What to expect
- Prices. [Replace with your own guidance.] Coastal towns roughly double their rates from mid-July to late August; May, June and September are the sweet spot.
- Breakfast. Usually included in hotels, rarely in apartments. Ask — it is often a generous spread of byrek, eggs, cheese and fruit.
- Payment. Many smaller places prefer cash (lek or euro) on arrival even when booked online. Check the payment terms on the listing.
- Air conditioning. Essential in July and August. Confirm it is in the room, not just the lobby.
