Hotels in Sarandë
1. Illyrian Boutique Hotel
My pick for first-time visitors who want to be central.
It's close to the beach promenade, restaurants and city centre, and current Booking.com reviews give it a 9.6/10 location score.
The hotel also has a rooftop bar. I'd choose this if I wanted to walk everywhere.

If you want beachfront + a more polished hotel, Demi is one I'd look at.
It's right on the coast and is currently one of the established higher-end hotel options in central Sarandë.
Best for: couples and people who want the sea immediately outside.

A good choice if you want beachfront without being right in the middle of all the central noise.
Current hotel listings describe it as casual beachfront accommodation with dining.
I'd consider it if beach access matters more than being directly in the centre.

A classic beachfront option.
It's around 500 m from central Sarandë and has a restaurant, bar, garden and parking.
I like this kind of hotel for a road trip because you get the beach without being completely dependent on the centre.

If your priority is resort + beach, I'd look south of the centre rather than insisting on staying downtown.
Mango Beach Resort is an officially registered hotel property on the Sarandë coast.
You trade some walkability for a more beach-focused stay.

Hotels in Ksamil
1. Hotel Meta
My choice for location + overall stay.
It's right around the main action, but you're still getting the kind of smaller hotel experience I prefer over a huge resort.
The current guest score is around 9.4, with particularly strong comments about the family running it, location and breakfast.

For couples and sea views.
It's close to the beach and has rooms with balconies and some with sea views.
I'd put a couple here if they want something comfortable and a little more polished.

If you want something more upscale.
It's close enough to the main beaches while still giving you more of a hotel experience.
It's also consistently listed among Ksamil's stronger-rated hotels.

For beach access and convenience.
It's only a short walk from the beaches, and the location is one of its strongest points.
I'd recommend it if you want to be able to wake up and get to the water without needing a car.

If you don't want a huge resort and prefer something modern and more intimate, I'd look here.
It's currently one of the highest-rated value boutique-style options on Tripadvisor's Ksamil hotel listings.

Hotels in Tirana
Tirana has a lot of hotels now, so I wouldn’t just pick five expensive ones. These are five I’d actually put on a guide, depending on what kind of stay you want. Current hotel listings and reviews still rate places like Rogner, Plaza, Hilton Garden Inn and others very highly.
1. Rogner Hotel Tirana
Best overall
This is the one I’d recommend if you want a proper hotel but still want to be right in the city.
It’s on Bulevardi Dëshmorët e Kombit, close to Blloku, the Grand Park and the main centre, but the big advantage is the garden. You don’t feel like you’re staying in the middle of all the traffic.
There’s also a pool, spa and plenty of outdoor space. It’s currently rated around 9/10 on Booking and 4.5/5 on Tripadvisor.
I’d choose it for: couples, first visit, longer stays.

Best for luxury + location
If you want to stay right in the middle of Tirana, this is probably the easy choice.
You’re basically beside Skanderbeg Square, so a lot of the city is right outside your door.
It’s more polished and modern than Rogner, and current Tripadvisor reviews have it at around 4.6/5.
I’d choose it for: luxury, short stays, first-time visitors who want everything close.
Local tip: you don’t really need a car if you’re staying here. Walk.

Best reliable option
If you don’t care about having a super “Albanian” hotel experience and just want somewhere clean, comfortable and predictable, this is a good bet.
It’s currently one of the highest-rated larger hotels in Tirana, with around 4.8/5 on Tripadvisor and strong current Booking reviews.
I’d choose it for: business trips, families, people who prefer international standards.

Best for Blloku
If you’re coming to Tirana partly for restaurants, bars and nightlife, I’d look here.
It’s in Blloku, which is where I’d tell most younger visitors to spend at least one evening.
The hotel itself is more boutique-luxury than huge international-chain feeling, with spa facilities and a rooftop/restaurant atmosphere.
Current Tripadvisor rating is around 4.4/5.
I’d choose it for: couples, nightlife, restaurants, a more stylish stay.

Best value for a proper hotel
If you don’t want to spend luxury-hotel money but still want a proper comfortable hotel, Mondial is one I’d keep in mind.
It’s been around for a long time and remains a popular choice, with current Tripadvisor ratings around 4.5/5.
I’d choose it for: families, road trips, people who want good value without going too basic.

1. The Yacht Hotel
If you want something premium, I'd start here.
You're right by the sea and Lungomare, so you don't feel like you're staying somewhere disconnected from Vlorë.
I'd put friends here if they want: luxury, beach, views and a nice hotel experience.

This is more my stylish/boutique choice.
I'd recommend it to a couple who wants somewhere modern and doesn't necessarily need a huge resort.

If you tell me: “I don't really want to leave the resort much.”
Then I'd send you here.
Pools, beach, restaurants and everything you need around you.
It's more of a proper resort holiday.

It's away from the busiest feeling of central Lungomare while still being close enough to everything.

1. Hotel Mangalemi
Best overall location.
You’re right in Mangalem, close to the castle route and the historic streets.
It’s one of the classic Berat hotels and is currently very highly rated.
I’d pick this for a first visit.

Best for traditional atmosphere.
Historic architecture, a central location and easy access to Mangalem.
A very good option if you want the hotel itself to feel like part of Berat.

Best for views and a more polished stay.
It’s positioned between the main areas and has terraces overlooking the historic city.
Current hotel guides continue to rank it among Berat’s stronger options.

Best for boutique/romantic atmosphere.
It’s the kind of place I’d choose if the hotel itself matters to you, rather than just needing somewhere to sleep.
It’s also currently very highly rated by Tripadvisor users.

Best if you want to actually sleep inside the castle area.
This is the experience choice.
You’re trading some convenience for atmosphere.
And honestly, I’d do it for one night.

My pick for a first-time city stay.
You’re right in central Durrës, close to the amphitheatre and the historic centre.
This is where I’d stay if I wanted to actually experience Durrës the city, rather than just the beach.

Best for a proper beach-resort experience.
It’s on the Plazh side and has pools, spa facilities, restaurants and direct resort-style amenities.
I’d choose this if the hotel matters as much as the city.
